THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH AND THE GROWTH IN LIFE FOR THE HOME MEETINGS
Many of us are very much concerned for the home meetings because it is not so easy for the home meetings to be rich, strong, fresh, living, attractive, and able to uphold people. In the big meetings we need only two or three trained and selected ones. If you have a Billy Graham, you can hold thousands of people. You may argue that you do not have such a one in your home meeting. But praise the Lord, we have thousands of small potatoes. All these have to be made useful.
Acts 5:42 says, “Every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and announcing the gospel of Jesus as the Christ.” The word teaching means they knew the truth. And announcing the gospel of Jesus as the Christ means that they were preaching. They were able to teach, and they were able to preach. In the past we have had conferences and annual trainings, both summer and winter. We have finished the entire study of the whole New Testament, and the messages have been printed. Many of you have the complete set of Life-studies of the New Testament in your home on the shelves. Yet how much of the truth conveyed in those pages of the Life-studies has really gotten into you? And how many truths are you able to teach others?
We have also stressed the growth in life very much. We need to know the truth, and we need to grow in life. Yet again, how much growth have you had in the past years? According to my observation, it is not too much. In one sense it is disappointing. Yet in another sense it is encouraging because you are still here. You are still seeking, hungry, and thirsty.
Just to have general conferences to give certain messages does not work too well. We need to set up classrooms with definite teachers. But where are our classrooms? Every home is a classroom. And every brother or sister of that certain home should be the teacher…All the churches have to endeavor to educate every saint fully in the spiritual truths and to cause them all to grow in life. Only these two things could qualify all the saints to be good for the home meetings.
We have to believe that in a home meeting of five or six, at least two or three could be and should be rich in the knowledge of the truth and rich in the growth of life. When they come together, these two or three will spontaneously become the richness, the strength, the newness, the livingness, the attracting power, and the upholding power of that small group. They could be useful, and their usefulness could be applied to the practical situation…Just speak. Every one of you can be an apostle, an evangelist, a shepherd, and a teacher.
Try to study the New Testament, and try to spend time to get into the Life-studies…Get into the full knowledge of the truth and then pray to the Lord, “Lord, grant me mercy and grace that I would grow in You. Grace me to grow, Lord.” Pray much, seeking the growth in life. You will be enlivened. You will be a factor to enrich, to strengthen, to refresh, and to enliven the home meetings. Then the home meetings will be attractive and will be able to uphold any member. Mga Buhat 5:42 niingon, “ Matag adlaw, didto sa templo ug sa balaybalay, wala sila mohunong sa pagpanudlo ug pagmantala sa ebanghelyo ni Jesus ingon nga Cristo.” Ang pulong pagpanudlo nagpasabot nga nakaila sila sa kamatuoran. Ug ang pagmantala sa ebanghelyo ni Jesus ingon nga Cristo nagpasabot nga nagsangyaw sila. Nakaila sila ug makasangyaw sila. Kanhi duna tay mga komperensya ug mga tinuig nga mga pagbansay, sa ting-init ba o tingtugnaw. Nahuman na sab nato sa pagtuon ang tibuok bag-ong tugon, ug naimprinta na sab ang mga mensahe. Daghan kaninyo ang dunay kumpletong set sa pagtuon-sa-kinabuhi sa Bag-ong Tugon nga naa sa inyong balay sa butanganan (shelves). Apan pila man sa mga kamatuoran nga anaa sa mga pahina sa mga pagtuon-sa-kinabuhi nga na-umol nganha nimo? Ug pila ka kamatuoran ang matudlo nimo sa uban?
Gihatagan sab natog gibug-aton ang pagtubo diha sa kinabuhi. Kinahanglan makaila ta sa kamatuoran ug kinahanglan motubo ta sa kinabuhi. Apan sublion nato, pila na man ang nitubo kanimo sa nilabayng duha ka tuig? Sumala sa akong pag-obserba, dili kaayo daghan. Nga makapaluya. Apan makadasig gihapon tungod kay anaa man mo dinhi. Nagtinguha, gigutom ug giuhaw gihapon mo.
Dili kaayo paigo kon maanaa ray paghatag og mga mensahe diha sa linangkob nga mga komperensya. Kinahanglan magpahamutang tag mga tulonghaan uban sa mga pihong magtutudlo. Apan asa man ang tulonghaan nato? ang matag balay ang tulonghaan. Ug kinahanglan magtutudlo ang matag igsoon nianang balaya….maningkamot gyod unta ang tanang mga balaan diha sa espirituhanong kamatuoran ug maoy hinungdan nga motubo silang tanan sa kinabuhi. Kining duha ka mga butang ra gyod ang makapa-angayan sa mga balaan aron mahimong paigo alang sa tigom sa mga balay.
Kinahanglan motoo gyod ta nga diha sa tigom sa balay nga dunay lima o unom, labing menos duha o tulo gyod ang mahimong dato diha sa kahibalo sa kamatuoran ug dato sa pagtubo sa kinabuhi. sa magtigom sila, kining duha o tulo maoy mahimong kadato, kusog, kabag-o, makapabuhi, ang makadani, ug ang makamintinar diha sa gagmayng grupo. Mahimo silang mapuslanon, ug ma-aplikar ang ilang pagkamapuslanon sa praktikal nga paagi…..mamulong ra gyod ta. Kamong tanan pwede mahimong apostol, usa ka ebanghelista, usa ka mag-atiman, ug magtutudlo.
Sulayi pagtuon sa Bag-ong Tugon, ug sulayi sa paghatag og panahon sa mga Pagtuon-sa-kinabuhi…magkugi gyod ta alang sa hingpit nga pagkaila sa kamatuoran ug mag-ampo dayon sa Ginoo, “ Ginoo, ihatag kanako ang kaluoy ug grasya nga motubo ko diha Nimo. Grasyahi ko aron ako motubo Ginoo..” Mag-ampo gyod ka, ug magtinguha sa pagtubo sa kinabuhi. Mabuhi ug madasig gyod ka. Mahimo dayon kang usa nga nagpadato, nagpalig-on, nagpalunhaw, ug nagpabuhi sa tigom sa mga balay. Makadani dayon ang balay ug makakupot sa tanang mga balaan.
